<p><strong><span class="blue">Future Travel Experience
Asia</span><br />
<br />
 "Advancing self-service initiatives to improve the passenger
experience".</strong></p>

<p>We are delighted to be returning to Kuala Lumpur for FTE Asia
2012. This will be the second in our series of shows in Asia
following the highly successful Check-In Asia 2010, which was also
hosted by Malaysia Airports. We rebranded the business unit to
reflect our broader focus, which extended beyond solving the queues
and frustrations at the check-in area, and onto almost every other
touchpoint throughout the travel continuum.</p>

<p>Our Asia show was launched because the global event we first
established in North America back in 2006 attracted strong global
interest, but the distance for stakeholders in Asia-Pacific
countries was too great to make it feasible for many to attend. So
we decided to satisfy the undoubted demand to share knowledge and
experiences in this important subject area by creating a regional
version of the show.</p>

<p>Compared to other parts of the world, self-service take-up in
Asia has been relatively slow, but the technology and methods are
proven and passengers enjoy taking control of the process.</p>

<p>Through an outstanding conference, exhibition and social
programme, Future Travel Experience Asia will provide inspiration
on potential future practices, plus detailed case studies on the
range of approaches available, and how to successfully implement
these technologies and practices so airlines, airports, handlers,
cruise operators, government agencies, rail authorities,
destination partners and industry providers can make the best
possible decisions regarding the evolution of passenger and baggage
processing methods, and other offerings relating to improving the
overall passenger experience.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The accreditation validates BCS'
continued growth into international markets, recently supplying its
complete suite of controls products into Honolulu Airport,
Melbourne and Gold Coast airports in Australia, as well as over 20
airports worldwide.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">BCS CEO Patrick Teo said the
company has been providing baggage handling system (BHS) controls
for the past 18 years, but with an increased emphasis on R&amp;D,
and world-first innovations, BCS is experiencing unprecedented
growth.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">BCS specialises in development,
design, manufacture and installation of state of the art baggage
handling systems including world leading controls to streamline
baggage handling and improve efficiencies at airports.&nbsp; The
company also applies its technology in freight logistics.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">BNP is one of the largest and most
experienced consultancy firms for the aviation industry worldwide
for over 30 years. &nbsp;It is involved in the majority of US
airports, as well as Asia and the Middle East.&nbsp; Its
association with BCS goes back to the original sortation project at
Melbourne airport around 17 years ago, and includes the Sydney
Airport 2000 Olympics upgrade as well as Auckland Airport arrivals
system upgrade study.&nbsp; Previously the companies have worked
together on Hawaii Kahului's Airport project in Maui, and currently
on Honolulu's BHS project as well as Kuala Lumpur's low cost
carrier airport.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">BNP has endorsed BCS as an approved
supplier of BCS's own "Airflow" High Level Controls, BCS's own Low
Level Controls and also BCS's revolutionary 3D user interface
system (MDS) -"Sym3".</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The extensive evaluation process,
included an engineering review of the product data,&nbsp; , a
product evaluation site visit at BCS facility in Auckland, New
Zealand; and an evaluation site visit to Melbourne Airport
operating with BCS High and Low level controls.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">"This is a significant milestone
for our business" said Brad Jackson, General Manager of BCS
International. "This accreditation provides BCS with a controls
brand that will help us to expand into emerging&nbsp;&nbsp;
international markets as well as uphold BCS in existing regions
where we have been active for many years.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">"Our suite of controls products and
services complements our mechanical equipment and demonstrates we
are a true global BHS turnkey supplier and integrator".</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Brad Jackson said the three
products provided different yet complimentary services for
airports.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">"Our Airflow HLC (High Level
Control) system provides baggage handling functionality within a
modular framework, allowing customisation to meet the unique needs
of each airport. We've recently released our fifth generation of
Airflow with enhanced features and functionality. Airflow modules
handle all types of BHS functionality including baggage sortation,
baggage screening, manual encode stations, information display
systems and the newly developed baggage reconciliation module known
as PaxBag."</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Mr Jackson said the modular design
of Airflow G5 gives a baggage handling platform that can respond
rapidly to changing needs of a modern airport and meets operators'
requests for improved information.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">"With a focus on visibility via
live dashboard reporting and performance indicators, it provides
our clients with a tool for driving continuous improvements within
their BHS operations" says Brad Jackson. "We can streamline the
operations of our clients by providing practical and effective real
time information and performance indicators."</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">BCS is recognised as an industry
leader within the global BHS services sectors for its automation
control system development, programming, design skills, and
methodologies in low level controls.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">But the whizz-kid of the BCS suite
is the company's s own Sym 3 suite of products, which&nbsp;
provides 3D visualization for all BHS system design, virtual
commissioning, and including the world's first 3D operational
control&nbsp; system(SCADA) for BHS with capabilities that deliver
real productivity gains and business results.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">"CEO Patrick Teo said the company
had invested heavily - and would continue to do so - in the
continued growth of this product, with over 20 person-years of
development.</p>

<p>This agreement moves away from the adversarial lowest common
denominator approach of competitive tendering and instead takes a
long term partnership approach whereby both parties share potential
benefits and efficiencies through a strategic and cooperative
approach.<br />
<br />
Under the agreement BCS will expand its dedicated BHS team at
Melbourne Airport and will implement KPI's for guaranteed service
levels which will increase overall operating efficiency for the
airport.<br />
<br />
The agreement covers developments over the next 5 years (with an
option for a further 5 years) with an estimated value of $50m
AUD.<br />
<br />
Patrick Teo CEO of BCS commented "The signing of the RFC is a major
milestone for BCS and we are truly grateful to Melbourne Airport
for having the belief in us. To us it acknowledges the great
working relationship we have built up over the past few years and
obviously the level of confidence Melbourne Airport has with both
BCS people and equipment.<br />
The signing has been very rewarding for everyone at BCS who makes
the company as strong as what it is."<br />
<br />
Melbourne Airport Chief Executive Officer Chris Woodruff added "The
RFC confirms the relationship that we have developed with BCS over
the past ten years. The partnership approach is premised on both
parties commitment to excellence and to servicing the needs of our
customers, in this regard we believe that BCS are ideal partners
for Melbourne Airport".</p>

<p>This also includes and extension of the Northern Concourse with
new passenger bridges to accommodate passenger growth and
facilities for the new A380 aircraft. BNP are the BHS consultancy
firm engaged by BLL that have provided the entire BHS
specification, selecting BCS as the preferred BHS contractor.<br />
<br />
The overall BHS scope was large with 3 entire new check in rows
(with group check in facilities), a new inbound and outbound
oversize facility and extending the sorting system for 5 new make
up loops and an additional lateral, plus 3 new arrival ICD
carousels (2 x 90m &amp; 1 x 70m) with associated inbound claim
feed conveyors that are loaded from the airside apron.<br />
<br />
Incorporated into the works, BCS also provided the design and
installation of the BHS structural steel, 13 new MCP's, general
transport conveyors that are compliant with the BNP standard
specification, a mixture of new high speed diverters, ploughs, and
Camsorts for sorting and load balancing, upgrading existing
conveyors to provide faster throughput of the existing system, more
redundancy within the BHS system and new High level controls(HLC)
and upgrading the existing HLC system to accommodate the expanded
BHS.<br />
<br />
BCS is on track to deliver the project successfully with a core
staff of 17 rising to 100 on site, and additional support from BCS
mechanical and controls engineers in Melbourne and Auckland as
required .The expansion project team are working closely with BCS
Operations and maintenance staff who are the incumbent BHS
maintenance team to ensure a seamless transition and integration of
the existing and new systems.<br />
<br />
The BCS approach of working closely with all stakeholders including
BAC, BLL and BNP and looking beyond the obvious ensures that this
complex project will be delivered within the aggressive timelines
required.</p>

<p>The award reflects the success the company is experiencing in
Asia Pacific, with the deal for supply of Baggage Handling Systems
for the new<br />
Kuala Lumpur International Airport terminal taking out the hotly
contested award.</p>

<p>The contract was a joint partnership with BCS' business partner
in Malaysia, AE Matromatic.</p>

<p>BCS CEO Patrick Teo said the deal is worth around NZ$40M to the
company and was one of the largest baggage handling systems deals
awarded in<br />
Asia in 2010.</p>

<p>"It is the result of a really committed effort by our staff,
spending time to get to know our customers and finding out what is
really important to them," he said.</p>

<p>"Our investment into highly advanced technology was clearly an
advantage and our strategy is to continue to invest heavily in
R&amp;D to create really innovative products.</p>

<p>"The ongoing support received from the Ministry of Science &amp;
Innovation has been instrumental in our success."</p>

<p>BCS's Sym3 3D simulation and virtual commissioning software are
valuable tools throughout the construction phases, whilst its High
Level<br />
Controls software, Airflow G5, handles the sortation, database and
reporting functionality for the new baggage handling system.</p>

<p>In addition, 3D SCADA software developed by BCS will monitor and
control baggage handling systems, with 3D visualisation and live
display of<br />
all bags in the system enabling proactive decision making and
increased operational efficiency.</p>
